Nebuchadnezzar

Claws rip
the reddish clay,
tufts of grass
fly behind your
heavy paws.
You dart forward -
ever onward -
a bolt of senses
compressed,
ready to pin down
your prey.

The heat surges

to bring you a
whiff of her.
You stop -
nostrils flaring,
pulsating in the
crazed rhythm
of your blood,
of your panting.

A wave of anger

electrifies your brain,
tightening your muscles
into that beautiful
deadly poise -
you were born
ready to strike,
you will die
crawling & drooling.

No time to waste.

One last leap

& you've overcome her,
crushing her to the ground.

You sink your teeth

into her neck,
slurping the life
out of her
with a big
orgasmic gulp
that takes you
beyond the hunger
and whatever
the Maker
imprinted on you.

The heavens open,

you're blind and deaf
to everything else
except her.
When she will
fill you - then
only then will you
remember who
you are.
