Retrorama
Punting on
the yellow lace river
Hiding under parasols
Crunching on the beads of pearls.
Panting under
The nicotined fingers
Grasping at the silky veils.
Ain’t misbehavin'!
A millennial swoon
In the indianred afternoon
Apples & oranges
Bouncing off the
Boogie keys
Of the jittering
Piano.
A creole love call
Travels across the water.
A sudden mood swing
Join me in my lament
for the Moocher.
Be my melancholy baby
Jazz me blues.
